Ive decided I will go forward with the Deluxe edition when I can purchase it. SilverSeraphym's "The Break Down: Fae Farm" Ive been watching so many videos about the game (and yes I do see the negatives, dialog and npc character dev being an example), and I found the one that put the nail in the coffin for me: There was so much to do, discover and understand, and I feel he hung on to the negative aspects of the game, possibly wanting to play more of the same old same old, without being open to new mechanics in a way. Suddenly I was discovering more that the game had to offer.Īnd after finding Josh's Gaming Garden "Honest First Thoughts on Fae Farm After 15 Hours." I realised that Kanz didnt really give the game an actual chance. I watched Fleur's and Payton's Corner's vids and I fell in love with the game again. I didnt want 1 bad review (and yes, I saw eye to eye with almost all of the negative points he talked about) to put me off giving it a chance. Watching Kanzalone's vid on it really put me off buying it, I was disappointed and it seemed it didnt have that much to explore.īut I tried again. It looked to be everything I was missing in a farm cozy sim, since I got a bit tired from stardew. See, I was excited about it since it was first announced. I have a feeling it will grow on me though! I wasn’t a huge fan of animal crossing models either at first. One downside though, I do love the graphics but I’m not the hugest fan of the character models mostly the faces. So then! FaeFarm! I see the art style and trailer and features and it’s like they took all the things I loved about Harvest Moon (the mushroom jump pads, yay), added magic in the form of Faeries (I do like witches better like Wylde Flowers, but I love faeries a lot too!) and added full on customization of the home and character (I hope the farm or town as well, like A New Beginning, if not though that’s okay, I’ve only seen the Switch trailers), and some RPG aspects! It’s perfect for me! I just wanted to share a bit of my joy, and maybe like minded people find some joy as well :) It’s still amazing though! I totally recommend it! There’s some, but you’re still playing a predetermined character. Then I found a mobile game called Wylde Flowers! It felt very much like HM but with added magic and diversity! I loved it and the story, but could have done with more customization. The only SoS game that seemed to feel like HM was the remake of Mineral Town tbh. It didn’t work and now I’m out the money lol. If I wanted to play Stardew, I would, and I tried to get a refund from Apple for Stardew after one day. Then I got the first Switch one (Pioneers of Olive Town) and absolutely hated it. I know Story of Seasons came out with more, but I honestly couldn’t get into them as much as I did the games before the split with Natsume for some reason. I loved Harvest Moon (by original developers) and the last HM title A New Beginnimg is still my favorite. The first farming game that isn’t mobile I’ve been interested in in a long time! The preorder is sitting in my Switch library and I can’t wait! Wish there was a way to play early. But since in my mind I got it for half off, I’ll be y’all’s guinea pig :) I don’t know, it looked fiddly in Kalazones video. However, I have seen posts by people who say that the fishing is a skill and needs to be leveled and gets easier. There’s nothing I hate more than making what should be simple and meditative, complex just for the sake of it. I fast forwarded to the areas I had questions about and she did remark that the store front NPCs had the generic dialogue but all characters that are part of the story are all unique. I also watched Eownnas 5 hour play through. I’m also the type of person who smashes the A button to get to whatever menu I need that’s hiding behind the wordy greeting. Many games I’ve played have had limited dialogue for non main story arc NPC. On his 3rd point, the limited NPC dialogue, again not a big deal to me. I think I’m one of the few who played entirely through Wyldflowers and never had my Tara date anyone. Only having 6 NPCs for romance also isn’t an issue for me. Which I always wondered about because it would be easier on the player. Currently finishing up Ooblets (love!) main story and you can’t have stacks of items for sale in your shop. Also I started thinking about Kalazones thoughts on it and realized none of them were a deal breaker for me. I had 30 bucks in points so I was like, screw it, I’ll check it out.
